This is going to be such a great event!Gather all of your dull knives as well as your friends and make sure to visit The Coastal Cupboard because for one dollar per knife you can help to raise money for The Charleston Basket Brigade.
Brad Pitner, owner of The Coastal Cupboard, has announced that the store is hosting its renowned semi-annual Charity Knife Sharpening Event Friday, November 2, 2012 through Sunday, November 4, 2012 at its 644-J Long Point Road location in Mt. Pleasant’s Belle Hall Shopping Center.
We’ll be there from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday and everyone in the Charleston area is invited to get their straight-edged knives professionally sharpened for a one dollar donation per knife.
Last year’s event was such as success that the store has doubled the amount of knife sharpening stations to accommodate the large crowds.
“We are so excited for our Charity Knife Sharpening event in a few weeks. We will have extra knife sharpening stations to provide our guests with the best experience yet!” said Pitner. “We are also so thrilled to raise money for The Charleston Basket Brigade. Every dollar raised at our event goes to buy food to feed families in need for Thanksgiving that other would not have a meal to eat that day.”
Pam Hartley, co-founder of The Charleston Basket Brigade said, “We are so thrilled to be a part of this popular event at The Coastal Cupboard. Its businesses like this in the community that really make a difference. Every knife sharpened gets us that much closer to our $100,000 goal, so we invite everyone the community to come out!”
Charleston Basket Brigade (CBB) founders Pam Hartley and Michelle Scarafile had a great time at their photo shoot for Charleston Magazine‘s November issue! It highlights the duo as one of the three finalists in the Community Catalyst category for the the 7th Annual Giving Back awards. The shoot took place at the Piggly Wiggly Distribution Center just outside of Summerville since the CBB’s efforts to feed so many families would not be possible without “The Pig.”Pam and Michelle are so humbled to be included in this list — the success of the CBB is all about community involvement, and we are looking forward to another wonderful “giving back” season. We can’t wait for this issue to hit newsstands in November!!
